Tip of the Iceberg

Thousands of records in shelves

Each showing just its edge to the eye

And no hint of its sound to the ear

So many treasures of music

Only potential, hidden to hearing ---

But what if somehow the mind

When the eye roams across them

Could bring out the sound?

* * *

The computer is turned off,

The monitor an opaque window,

What lies behind it invisible

Limitless sights and sounds

Lie just a switch flick away ---

What if the mind could travel

Through all the inherent pathways

Without any effort at all?
