Greg and I were roming

Alone at my folks'  

The color TV was on

But with the sound off‑‑‑

The stereo was providing the sound  

A Mets‑Astros game was on  

It was the bottom of the seventh

And still there was no score   

Up for the Mets was a very weak hitter, J.C. Martin  

I told Greg that J.C. was going to hit a home run  

Greg reasonably objected  

J.C. hit a homer  

The top of the ninth arrived

The score just one‑nothing  

I told Greg that Jim Wynn would hit a home run to tie the game up

Though I didn't even know who was coming up for Houston  

After the first two Astros made outs

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the batter was Jim Wynn  

He hit a homer
