Drumsticks and Sharkmeat

I'm watching

A dumb movie,

The Adventures of Ford Fairlaine,

Starring major male chauvinist

Andrew Dice Clay,

Which actually happens to have

Some pretty funny parts

At one point

Clay tosses

A pair of drumsticks,

Belonging to

His now deceased

Sleazeball sidekick,

Into a fire

Right before

Watching this movie

I had watched

Another movie,

One I'd never seen,

Called Power,

Starring Richard Gere

Several times in the movie

Gere is seen

Beating drumsticks

Against a drumpad

In one scene

The camera focuses on

The drumsticks

But while they're held still

Later in Ford Fairlane,

The guests at an

Afternoon lawn party

Thrown by a rich woman

Played by Priscilla Presley

Are invited to partake in

A feast of sharkmeat,

Earlier in the day

I'd gotten to a part

In the same Tom Swift book

Featured in Tempest in a Teapot

Where the characters are

Discussing the menu in Bermuda,

Where the entire story takes place,

And Rick orders shark meat

Simultaneous with Power

There was a two-hour program

About the Bermuda Triangle

Speaking of Priscilla Presley,

In the few minutes

Between the end of Power

And the start of Ford Fairlane

I decided to fast forward

The tape I'd taped Power on --

Originally there had been

Two hours at the start of the tape,

From something I wasn't keeping,

That I could fill in

With a two-hour program,

And then came

U2's Rattle and Hum,

Which I was keeping

I filled in the two hours with Power,

So now I could

Position the tape

After Rattle and Hum

As the fast forward

Arrived at the

Estimated endpoint of

Rattle and Hum

The tape went into play mode

And images appeared

They were credits to something

I thought for a minute

That I wasn't at Rattle and Hum

Because what caught my eye

Was Priscilla Presley's name --

Maybe these were credits from

The Airplane movie she'd made

Or something,

Though I hadn't taped it

I rewound the tape a bit

And this was Rattle and Hum

Oh yeah,

There's a scene

In the documentary

Where U2 visit Graceland,

Elvis Presley's estate,

And they look at

A portrait of Elvis's

Wife and daughter
