I had on my agenda

Because the housekeeper didn't show

There was a voice message
From Andrea Brae of SoulMates

I had left her a message
Three weeks ago
And hadn't heard back from her

She wanted to fax me
Some paperwork
But I needed to call her first

So I had two calls to make,
Both to women named Andrea

After noticing this coincidence
I remembered that before work
I had checked my email at home
And there had been an email
From a guy named Andy McMillan
From the now-defunct group Planet I'm Gone
Saying he'd make a CD-R of their music
If I'd make him something in return

Just before I headed upstairs
To go to sleep tonight
I set the VCR to tape a movie,
The comedy Just the Ticket

When I went to jot down
Who the main actors are
I realized that the morning's
Curious name recurrence
Was still going strong

The two names mentioned in TV Guide
Were Andy Garcia and Andie MacDowell

Thinking back on the day,
I wondered if there had been
Any other instances of this
That I might have overlooked
And sure enough there was one

This evening I had followed online
As much of the Yankee game as I could

They destroyed the Orioles 19-1
And Andy Pettitte pitched 7 scoreless innings
